Welcome to Companion Camp!
Companion Camp is an all-inclusive campground for pets dedicated to providing quality daycare and lodging services for cats and dogs. Established in 2008, we provide safe, affordable and reliable care for your fur-babies YEAR ROUND in a beautiful natural setting just north of Pittsboro, North Carolina. We are privileged to serve our neighbors in the Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, Burlington and greater "Raleigh-Durham" areas.
Since 2013, the Camp has been owned and managed by Jessica Schmaltz and her husband Tim. Jess and Tim are lifelong pet owners, animal lovers, and animal advocates. Whether volunteering with various rescue organizations, assisting with shelter animal transportation or opening their home to fosters, Jess and Tim are dedicated to providing loving care for animals in need. They are the proud parents of three rescue pups: Dragon, Emma and Freya, as well as five rescue felines: Violet, Veruca, Lily, Tango & Cash. We are fully committed to continuing the Companion Camp legacy, providing the highest quality of service to all current and future campers. COVID-19 UPDATE & GUIDANCE
First and foremost, Companion Camp will remain OPEN AS USUAL unless we are all forced to shelter-in-place. While our cancellation policy will remain in effect, we would like to encourage any clients who believe they MAY need to cancel their existing reservation to do so ASAP. If you are ultimately able to travel, we should have plenty of space to rebook their stay, even with extremely limited notice. If you are not able to travel, cancelling early will allow you to avoid any fees.
We know that this is an unprecedented situation and are doing what we can to lessen the overall impact to all. That said, we are a small business and we need to take steps to ensure your pets can continue to have a safe and loving place to stay in the future. Please let us know if you have any questions whatsoever. Until things get somewhat back to normal, we'd like to offer our clients some DISCOUNTS on future stays. If you're in a position to purchase a CC Gift Certificate now, you can save a decent amount:

BACK TO NORMAL (?)
I don't know about you guys, but we're definitely thankful to FINALLY be past mandatory stay-at-home orders. It'd be a stretch to say that it's "business as usual" at Camp right now, but we're 100% OPEN and have plenty of availability for both daycare and boarding should you need us. As of today (27MAY2020), we are completely booked over the 4th of July holiday (03-05) and are currently on a waiting list. If you think you might need accommodations during that week, please let us know ASAP and we'll do everything we can to meet your needs.
We are still offering the same discounted Gift Certificates as previously mentioned, so if you'd like to take advantage of up to 30% discounts on future stays, inquire today! We'll most likely adjust these offerings at the end of June, so lock in your reduced rates today! As a reminder, Companion Camp Gift Certificates are valid until used, so they're truly a win-win...you can't go wrong!

Governor orders all North Carolinians to stay at home until April 29 - CAMP REMAINS OPEN!
Governor Roy Cooper issued a statewide Stay-At-Home Executive Order at a Friday afternoon briefing from the state’s Coronavirus Task Force. The Stay-At-Home Order is effective at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 30 and will last for at least 30 days, but N.C. residents are advised to take extreme precautions immediately. The order is in effect until April 29 (although it can be terminated early, or extended).

Because Companion Camp is able to adhere to all social distancing guidelines, we are currently unaffected by this order. While no one will be traveling for pleasure any time soon, we have plenty of availability and are able to offer boarding, daycare and basic grooming services until further notice. If you need a safe place for your pets to hang out while you attend to anything that is ESSENTIAL-TO-YOU, we'd love to have them and are here to help however we can.

CAMP UPDATE!
We hope you're all staying safe and healthy during this difficult time. Should you need to travel for any reason, or just want to bring your pets for daycare playtime, Companion Camp remains OPEN and accepting reservations! We do still have availability over both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but expect to fill up unless there are major changes with the COVID situation. In addition, please be aware of the following changes:
We are no longer offering gift certificates but will most likely bring them back around the Holidays. Thanks so much for taking advantage of these while they were offered!
We are also no longer offering nail trims, but will continue to provide baths and ear-cleaning upon request. We recommend Hair of the Dog in Chapel Hill, NC for all your professional grooming needs.
